What is Birth Photography?

Birth Photography is a beautiful and priceless thing. Having those photographs of your children's birth(s) are something you will cherish forever. Birth photography is only what you want it to be. It doesn't necessarily mean graphic images of of nudity and exposure. You, as the parents, have the option to be as modest and private as you want, or as open and exposed as you'd like! If you want privacy while pushing, I can step out during this, and just capture those moments before and after. These are not photographs that are publicly shared unless specific permission is given due to the sensitivity of these. You have the option to not share them with anyone at all.

Imagine this - The details of the hospital, birthing, or surgical room where your child is born. The strength and beauty of the laboring mother. The moment you lay eyes on your precious tiny babe. First touch, first kiss, first weight, and measurements. Daddy holding baby for the first time. Tiny newborn feet. A new family being created. Those moments that you are so caught up in when they're happening, you can't pull yourself away to grab a camera - Let your birth photographer capture every memory so you can focus completely on the experience.

This is my absolute favorite type of photography and I hope as it grows that this can transition to the only type for me. Being present for this moment is such a gift and blessing. It is one of the happiest days of your life. There is a raw emotion that is present that you cannot stage, fake or recreate. It is utterly beautiful and breathtaking. It is moments like this that give me passion for photography.
